Collection: Botanical Sun Protection

Every dermatologist & esthetician would tell you The best form of Anti-Aging is SUNSCREEN! No other form of “skincare” can prevent as much as some zinc oxide.

However nature has its own form of sun protection. Makes sense that botanicals would also want to protect themselves from the harsh sun. Commonly known as Antioxidants, almost all of my products contain one or more of these botanical oils, increasing the protection and reversing damage caused by UV rays.

Chemical sunscreen absorbs into the skin and then absorbs UV rays, converts the rays into heat, and releases them from the body.

A Physical sunblock sits on top of the skin and reflects the sun's rays. The minerals titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the main active ingredients in physical blocks.  Most skin care enthusiasts suggest these physical sun screens because it decreases the amount of absorbed chemicals but also because it’s better for the environment too. The reefs are severally damaged from chemical sunscreen.

Carrot seed oil which has the highest natural sun protection with a Spf rating of 38-40 that’s more then some zinc (and even chemical based) sunscreens.

Red Raspberry seed oil is quoted at a 28-50 depending on the strength & Quality it’s Equivalent to the protection you would receive from titanium dioxide.

There are a host of other oils with lesser SPF factors, but may be adequate for some more bronzed babes.
